The Zutons - "Who killed The Zutons?" (2004)

Este es uno de mis discos favoritos, todos los tracks del álbum son simplemente magníficos. Lo escuché hace tiempo (no sé por qué no lo había subido...).

The Zutons son una banda de indie rock, originaria de Liverpool, Inglaterra. Tomaron su nombre del guitarrista de The Magic Band Bill Harkleroad, mejor conocido como Zoot Horn (o "Zuton") Rollo. He aqui su álbum debut, el cual recomiendo mucho.

Nuevo álbum de Keane

Siguiendo con las noticias, el 13 de octubre se lanza a la venta el tercer disco de la banda inglesa Keane, el cual será titulado "Perfect Simetry".
Hemos podido conseguir la portada, aqui la presentamos.

Tercer álbum de The Rakes

La banda inglesa The Rakes ha anunciado que se encuentra en el proceso de grabación de su tercer álbum. Manifiestan que han escogido un lugar distinto al "deslucido Londres", asi que su nuevo lugar de inspiración es una estación de radio de la antigua República Democrática Alemana al este de Berlín.
Aseguran que sus nuevos temas serán mas intensos que en sus 2 discos anteriores, dada la influencia del ambiente alemán, además de estar bajo la producción de Chris Zane (que anteriormente ha trabajado con The Walkmen). Se espera que salga a la venta la primavera del próximo año.

"Everybody wants me" del álbum "Emergency"

Se viene el nuevo álbum de The Killers

Según Universal Music, el cuarto álbum de la banda, titulado "Day and age" saldrá a la venta el 22 de Septiembre de este año. El vocalista, Brandon Flowers, dijo que el álbum esta producido por Stuart Price (productor de electro/dance que anteriormente ha trabajado con Madonna, Gwen Stefani y Missy Elliot... así que se espera un sonido nuevo).
También mencionó que el single "Human" ya esta en las radios (estadounidenses) esta semana.
Se dice que el sonido es un poco diferente, pero mantiene la misma escencia que caracteriza a la banda.

Aqui queda un video, que aunque es de mala calidad, lo que importa es esuchar la canción.

The Raveonettes [Discography]

The Raveonettes son un dúo pop rock de Dinamarca formado por Sune Rose Wagner (en guitarra y voz) y Sharin Foo (en bajo y voz). Su música está caracterizada por las armonías vocales inspiradas en The Everly Brothers, junto a fuertes guitarras eléctricas y dosis considerables de ruido. Sus canciones yuxtaponen la simplicidad estructural y de acordes del rock de los 50s y 60s con una intensa instrumentación eléctrica, usualmente con letras oscuras, similares a las de una de las influencias de la banda, The Velvet Underground.

En pocas palabras, se definen como noise rock/indie rock y surf rock (o sea: musica que te levanta el ánimo)

The Verve - Forth (2008)

Después de unos 11 años de silencio, luego de su mega hit "Bitter sweet symphony", vuelven uno de los máximos exponentes del "Brit Pop" (que de pop no tiene mucho). Con un aire más espiritual y menos rockero que su célebre "Urban Hymns" y llegando incluso a lo épico, con canciones densas y largas, de hasta 8 minutos. Su primer single, "Love is noise" a dado la vuelta al rededor del mundo, conviertiendose en una de las mejores canciones del año, por su sonido, sus letras, el sentimiento que trasmite. En lo personal, esa canción me parece excelente, y el disco entero igual.

Banda de indie rock originaria de Nueva York, se formó en el 2006. Se dice que el nombre de la banda viene de una pelicula amateur. Con influencias indie rock y afro-pop tienen un sonido bien peculiar. Su single mas famoso es "A-punk", el cual tiene un video bien curioso.

The White Stripes [Discografia]

Grupo de garage rock minimalista estadounidense. Fue formado en 1997 en Detroit y está compuesto por Jack White (guitarra, piano y voz principal) y Meg White (batería, percusión y voz). Forman parte del resurgimiento del garage rock de los años '60. También conocidos como MB20, MBT, Matchbox Twenty y originalmente como Matchbox 20, es una banda de rock alternativo estadounidense originaria de Orlando, Florida. Su género musical puede definirse como Pop/Rock.
Han vendido más de 44 millones de discos en todo el mundo. Actualmente los integrantes de la banda son Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Kyle Cook y Brian Yale. Adam Gaynor (Guitarra rítmica) dejó la banda en 2005, después de tocar en los primeros tres álbumes. Rob Thomas es el principal escritor de canciones y cantante líder, y ha creado su propia carrera como solista bien establecida por él mismo, después de lanzar su álbum Something to be.
